"If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met." -Matthew 6:30-33 (MSG)

I like to think that faith is the currency of the spiritual realm. Without faith, we are incapable fulfilling our identity as Christians. In 2014, my family of six lost our house, and we lived with friends and family for seven months. Needless to say, it was the most strengthening and faith-driven season of my life. My parents, younger siblings, and I truly learned how to live by faith, and I cannot even describe how faithful God was in return. I am telling you from experience that He will always provide whatever it is you need, whether it be material, spiritual, or emotional. God loves and values you and wants to give you the best in all areas of your life! Faith is more than an attitude, more than a choice. Faith is a lifestyle. God has challenged US to live in complete and utter trust every single day. It will always be difficult to let go of control and comfort, but the reward ahead is more than you can imagine.

Surrendering all may sound uncomfortable, and if you are going through a rough patch, it may even sound ridiculous; but we know we can't live this life on our own, so why not put our lives in the hands of our omnipotent God? Ask Him to reveal whatever may be hindering you from giving everything to God.

Any and every habit starts with small steps in the right direction. Allow your faith in God to be a part of your daily life. Every morning, ask Him to stretch your faith and grow your patience. Trust Him to take care of the little things - not only the big ones - and in time, you will find that the uncertainty that once scared you is just a crack in the sidewalk.

Heavenly Father, thank You for being all-knowing and all-powerful so that I don't have to be. Thank You for protecting and providing for me. Reveal to me what is hindering my growth. Challenge my faith and bring me to a place of total dependence on You. Fill me with patience as I wait on Your timing, and give me with peace throughout whatever Satan throws my way. Give me childlike faith and a testimony to help others on their journey. Please forgive me of my worry and humanly need for control. Thank you, Lord, for continuing to bless me and those around me! Amen.
