Today, acne is treated by man-made products that are laced with chemicals and only treat the surface of the problem. Acne is most often a direct manifestation of hormonal imbalance and/or certain internal organs not functioning properly. It is important to heal your body from the inside out, and treating the root of the disfunction rather than the symptom. The following ingredients have been known to be beneficial for not only your skin, but your overall health. (Also, make sure to get versions of these products that are organic, raw, etc!)

Here are some of my favorite natural remedies for acne:

1. Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

There are ENDLESS uses for coconut oil, but one of my favorite ways to use it is as a moisturizer. Not only does it help regulate your skin’s oil production, but it is anti-inflammatory and great for when you have open wounds due to acne.

2. Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Olive oil can be substituted for coconut oil and won’t clog your pores like many unnatural lotions and moisturizers. It is also anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory.

3. Indian Healing Clay Mask by Aztec Secret

If you have ever researched natural remedies for acne you’ve probably come across this! This mask is made completely from bentonite clay and draws out toxins from below the skin. I would recommend using it with apple cider vinegar instead of water for the best results.

4. Unfiltered Organic Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar (commonly referred to as ACV) is anti-bacterial and can be used as an all-natural toner. Dilute it with water and apply to the face after moisturizing.

5. Tea Tree Oil

This is the one product I haven’t tried personally, but I’ve heard amazing things about it! Tea tree oil can be used as a quick treatment for acne. Just dip a cotton ball in tea tree essential oil and dab it on the affected area and rinse your face after 15 to 20 minutes. Another option is to mix a few drops of tea tree oil in 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel. Apply it on your pimples and blemishes, leave it on for 20 minutes and then rinse it off.

There you have it! Try one or more of these natural acne remedies and see how much healthier your skin starts to look!
